March 25 – 20 Day Journey

March 25
Overcome evil with Good

Read – 1 John 5:1-5

This is the day. Good Friday. Our Savior Jesus hangs on the cross. He lays down his life for all of creation.

Pause and reflect on our journey together. There is no new task for today. Just reflect and consider how to focus on Christ and His Kingdom from this day forward.

For now, just enjoy this hope, “The one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world.”

March 24 – 20 Day Journey

March 24
Give your enemy a drink

Read – Luke 6:27-36

This is the same as yesterday. So if you found yesterday’s task a little difficult, try again today. You can do it, be kind and merciful today!

March 23 – 20 Day Journey

March 23
Give your enemy food

Read – Exodus 23:4-5

This is a practical command from God, guarding against our usual behavior towards those we deem our enemies.

Because our enemy feels hunger, that reminds us that our enemies are human too. Thus, they were created in the image of God and deserving of our love.

I know, feeding your enemy might be difficult to do today. But is there something you can do to practically show someone (enemy/neighbor/friend) they are loved by God?

March 22 – 20 Day Journey

March 22
Trust in God to make right the world, don’t take vengeance up as your responsibility. God will right the wrongs of the world.

Read – Leviticus 19:18

It is interesting that the “God will repay” is wrapped up in the Greatest Commandment passage that Jesus quotes in the Gospels. Consider now a practical way to love your neighbor today, and give it a try!

In other words, you don’t have to right the wrongs of the world. Your task is to love God, love neighbor.

March 21 – 20 Day Journey

March 21
Do your best to live at peace with everyone – even those whom you disagree with

Read – Matthew 5:9

How can you be a peacemaker today in your family, at work, with your friends, with the church family?

Pray and be open to God’s leading in that regard today.

March 20 – 20 Day Journey

March 20
Do the hard thing, do what is right, Don’t repay evil with evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

Read – Matthew 5:13-16

As you go about your day, think about and pray about shining the light of Christ today. See how He leads and open yourself up to it.

March 19 – 20 Day Journey

March 19
Do not be conceited – think about others today

Read – Rom. 12:3, Colossians 3:12-14

Take an honest assessment of self.

Pray Psalm 139:24 – “See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” What’s God leading you to do today for someone else?

March 18 – 20 Day Journey

March 18
Don’t be proud, associate with people of low position – don’t think you’re better than anybody else

Read – Luke 14:1-15

Taking Jesus’ teaching serious today, is there someone who you can help today? Today’s about serving someone who needs it. Go ahead, give it a try!

March 17 – 20 Day Journey

March 17
Live at peace with each other, forgive, be merciful and kind – live in harmony with one another

Read – Matthew 18:15-35

Who do you need to forgive? It starts today, Jesus tells you what to do. Have you been hurt, has someone sinned against you? Go to them, in humility and forgive, work it out.

March 16 – 20 Day Journey

March 16
Mourn with those who are mourning

Read – 2 Thessalonians 1:3-5

Encourage one another. Build each other up. We are not meant to go through mourning and difficult times alone. We have a church for that.

If you are discouraged, reach out today, and share a burden with a brother or sister in Christ.
